Return to the Sea

John Egan, a Sydney poet and former high school English teacher, draws inspiration from memory and the sea, reflecting on the natural world, urban settings, and social issues in his work. With a rich background in education, he has taught at various institutions, including the University of NSW and Wollongong University College. Since retiring in 2013, he has published extensively, including five full collections and numerous chapbooks, showcasing his diverse poetic voice and commitment to exploring complex themes.
