The Family Way

Set in rural Nova Scotia, the story follows Tulia May, who helps her mother at the Ideal Maternity Home, a facility for unwed mothers. Initially dismissive of her friend Finny Paul's suspicions about the home's dark secrets, including the fate of unadoptable babies, Tulia's perspective shifts when her sister Becky becomes involved. As Tulia uncovers the truth, she must take urgent action to protect Becky's baby, highlighting themes of family, secrecy, and moral responsibility.
