Aims and Experience in Outdoor Education

Focusing on the experiences of students aged ten to twelve in an outdoor education program, this study contrasts teacher expectations with student aims through interviews. It utilizes a framework based on Dewey's philosophy to analyze these aims, particularly those established at the 1975 Dartington conference and at Somers School Camp. The research emphasizes the significance of aim development in relation to personal, social, and environmental education, offering valuable insights for outdoor education professionals and educators seeking to enhance their programs.
