Auch ältere „Geisterfotos“ lassen sich meist durch Doppelbelichtung, Spiegelungen oder andere technische Fehler erklären. Doch trifft dies wirklich auf alle Bilder zu? 80 der bekanntesten Fotos von Geistern und übersinnlichen Phänomenen aus den letzten 100 Jahren werden in diesem Buch von Fotoexperten analysiert. Der Bogen spannt sich von den gefälschten Bildern der Cottingley Fairies, auf die sogar Sir Arthur Conan Doyle hineinfiel, bis zu Aufnahmen aus den letzten Jahren, die Gegenstand heftiger Diskussionen im Internet sind. Geplante Aufnahmen wie jene von Ektoplasma, das manche Medien bei Séancen ausströmen, werden ebenso behandelt wie Schnappschüsse mit seltsamem Ergebnis, wie etwa jenem, den Urlauber nichtsahnend 1998 in einem Tiroler Hotel getätigt haben.
