On a dark and soggy night, a bedraggled cat finds its way into the ivy-covered Sylvia Hotel in Vancouver's fashionable West End. There’s no way he can stay, of course. The manager is quite clear on that. But luckily, the rain hardly ever stops, and before long, the cat has charmed his way into the hearts of staff and guests alike. Based on a true story, Mister Got To Go is beautifully told here by one of Canada’s most original and engaging children’s storytellers, Lois Simmie. Cynthia Nugent, noted painter of the urban scene, captures in vivid detail all the grace and charm of this landmark Vancouver hotel and its delightful cast of characters.
