Im Rahmen dieser Arbeit wurde ein integriertes Bewertungsverfahren zum Fußgängerschutz vorgestellt, welches das Schutzpotential von Maßnahmen der aktiven und passiven Sicherheit sowie deren Kombination auf einer gemeinsamen Skala für Kinder und Erwachsene vergleichbar macht. Das Verfahren wurde auf verschiedene Frontgeometrien und Maßnahmen angewandt, deren Schutzpotential in Polar-II Dummytests mit einem Versuchsfahrzeug demonstriert werden konnte. Ein wichtiges Merkmal des Bewertungsverfahrens ist sein modularer Aufbau, bei dem Struktureigenschaften der Fahrzeugfront mit der hervorgerufenen Fußgängerkinematik sowie Daten der Unfallforschung kombiniert werden. Die Module können dabei unabhängig voneinander weiterentwickelt oder ausgetauscht werden.
