„Yoko Ono TO THE LIGHT“ erscheint anlässlich von Yoko Onos Ausstellung in der Londoner Serpentine Gallery, die grundlegende Werke aus Onos gesamten Schaffen umfasst. Die Ausstellung widmet sich auch dem enormen Einfluss der Künstlerin auf die zeitgenössische Kunst; dabei wird ihrer maßgeblichen Rolle in einer Vielzahl von Medien nachgegangen. Der Katalog enthält unter anderem ausführliche Erörterungen der Ausstellung in der Serpentine Gallery (Alexandra Munroe) sowie von Onos Verwendung des Mediums Film (Chrissie Iles). Die Aufsätze ergänzt ein Gespräch von Julia Peyton-Jones und Hans Ulrich Obrist mit der Künstlerin.

Published to accompany the exhibition LEAPS JUMPS AND BUMPS, this flip book focuses on one of Sturtevant’s more recent works, Finite Infinite (2010), a large scale projection that features a dog running in an endless loop across an expanse of grass. Finite Infinite, like many of Sturtevant’s video works, references the endlessly repeating imagery that has become so prevalent in the world we live in today. Looping and repetition, key themes throughout Sturtevant’s practice, are also elegantly drawn out in the insightful text by Daniel Birnbaum included in this book.

The publication includes interviews with both artists by Serpentine Gallery Director Julia Peyton-Jones and Co-Director Hans Ulrich Obrist.
