Im Zentrum liegt der erloschene Vulkan Hallasan, der mit einer Höhe von knapp 2.000 Meter zugleich die höchste Erhebung auf Jeju ist. Zwei Straßen führen rund um die Insel und verbinden die wenigen Städte miteinander. Das Klima ist subtropisch und erlaubt sogar den Anbau von Bananenstauden. Abseits dieser allgemeinen Informationen zeigen die Bilder, die der Künstler bei seinem Besuch auf Jeju für uns eingefangen hat, wie besonders diese Insel ist, die sich vor etwa 1,2 Millionen Jahren langsam aus dem Meer erhob.
