Focusing on the sociological dynamics within a Zimbabwean village, this study explores the lives of Ndau men and women, particularly emphasizing the roles of women in kinship, marriage, and land allocation. It examines the intersection of politics, chieftaincy, and religious practices, highlighting how cultural norms are navigated and transformed. The author employs an actor-oriented approach to reveal the emotional and psychological experiences of women, while also offering a gendered review of existing literature on Shona sociology and irrigation.
