Set in a medieval village surrounded by a prehistoric stone circle, the narrative unfolds during the annual fête, where pagan customs clash with religious beliefs. The villagers are drawn to the legend of Sir Tancred’s treasure, said to be guarded by a dragon, but warned of dire consequences for those who seek it. As the last fête approaches, the story reveals the unsettling truths behind local superstitions and the mysterious disappearances of the villagers, leaving the surviving few reluctant to share their haunting experiences.

Recovering the Past is a photographic documentary project of 25 striking and thought provoking images produced to coincide with an exhibition in Ypres, Belgium.
