Dakota Lilly is the story of a woman who grows up on the frontier in the Dakota Territory. She is determined to stop what she believes is careless treatment of women by incompetent doctors at the time of their giving birth. After seeing her best friend die in childbirth, she is determined to do whatever she could to prevent other women's deaths. She becomes an advocate for women's rights to determine how she should have the person with her at the time of her delivery.
