The study employs Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) to assess the contributions of these parameters, filling a notable gap in existing literature.

The investigation focuses on the influence of rotational speed in friction welding, traditionally viewed as less significant than other variables like friction pressure and time. It references recommendations from The Welding Institute in the UK, which indicate that effective welds can be achieved across various steel diameters at specific peripheral velocities. However, the optimal speed range for dissimilar materials, specifically AISI 304 stainless steel and AISI 4140 low alloy steel, remains unclear, prompting this study to explore its effects on the welding process.

Continuous drive friction welding can solve the problems of sensitization, dilution and solidification cracking encountered in conventional fusion welding.
