This study aims to explore the application of Horace Mann's public school ideals to college administration. The approach taken is straightforward, focusing on extracting valuable lessons from the material without introducing unrelated concepts. The primary audience for this work is students of education; therefore, when similar references arise, preference is given to those that are more accessible. For instance, if a point is covered in both a biography and a local newspaper, the biography is cited for ease of access. The intention is for this study to serve the pursuit of truth, and if it proves to be both useful and engaging, those qualities should be considered assets rather than drawbacks. Additionally, this work is part of a larger collection by Forgotten Books, which publishes numerous rare and classic texts. Utilizing advanced technology, they digitally reconstruct historical works to maintain their original format while addressing imperfections found in aged copies. Although some flaws from the original may be replicated, most are repaired to preserve the integrity of these significant historical documents.
