Exploring the intersection of media and politics, this work analyzes how American film media shapes public perception and supports U.S. foreign policy through a critical lens. It employs three key theories—propaganda model, inverted totalitarianism, and encoding/decoding—to dissect selected Hollywood films. A comparative analysis highlights the contrast between hegemonic and anti-hegemonic narratives using Gramscian cultural hegemony. Ultimately, the thesis argues that American media is instrumental in disseminating propaganda and reinforcing national dominance.
