Focusing on the ecology and conservation of Ngazidja's mangroves, this study examines their biodiversity, usage, and carbon sequestration capabilities. It identifies seven mangrove species and assesses their natural regeneration rates, revealing variability across different sites. The research highlights the impact of global warming on coastal areas and proposes management and reforestation strategies to enhance carbon storage. Findings indicate that carbon sequestration correlates with tree density and maturity, suggesting that improved mangrove management can effectively reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
