Domestic violence is often perceived as a male-perpetrated issue, neglecting the reality that men can also be victims. This study highlights the overlooked experiences of men suffering mistreatment from their partners, often involving threats of abandonment and loss of familial connections. Many men internalize blame and hesitate to leave abusive relationships due to fear of losing their children or damaging their relationships with them. The research aims to shed light on the hidden prevalence of violence against men in Ecuador and promote awareness and gender equality.
