Attitudes resistant to protective measures and pollution
Man, society, conflicts and social experience in the African context
    • The book explores the complexities of sexual orientation, particularly focusing on homosexuality in Africa, where it faces significant controversy and hostility. It highlights the pervasive homophobia among Africans, revealing how societal taboos prevent open discussions about sexual diversity. By employing Brewer's theory of Optimal Distinctiveness, the author assesses heterosexual attitudes towards homosexuals, shedding light on the marginalization and rejection faced by the LGBTQ+ community in African societies.

The study explores the relationship between public attitudes toward protective measures and environmental pollution, utilizing a sample of 200 participants aged 17 to 35. Data was collected through two scales assessing attitudes and perceptions. Analysis via the Bravais Pearson Correlation test revealed significant correlations, indicating that beliefs and intentions regarding protective measures are linked to environmental pollution levels. These findings support existing theoretical frameworks established by Bowen, Fishbein & Ajzen, and Rosenberg & Hovland.
