Miriam S. Moss spent years observing and participating in the natural world in New Jersey's Pine Barrens and recording her thoughts in a journal. During that time, mostly from the 1970s through the 1990s, Moss and her husband lived for many a weekend in their secluded primitive cabin along Rancocas Creek in the Pine Barrens.
