Suellen Ocean elabora sus historias desde su residencia en las colinas del norte de California, donde ejerce su profesión de escritora. Comenzó su escritura profesional para la prensa y la radio a finales de los años 80. Su primer libro autopublicado la llevó a ser publicada "oficialmente" cuando, en 1998, fue invitada a participar en la antología, "The Simple Life", de Berkley Books, Nueva York.
