From as far back as I can remember, I was always in the kitchen with my mother while she cooked. She always told me I was the best helper, so I got to be the first one to taste all of her delicious food. Food was always a huge part of my life as a child, and it caught up with me fast. Growing up as an overweight child, food quickly became a coping mechanism. After years of struggling with my weight and countless losses, I was faced with a life or death decision that would alter the course of my life forever. Would I have the discipline to maintain or would my next decision be my last? Food had always been such an important part of life, now the question was, would it cost me more than I was willing to pay?
