Antoine de Saint-Exupery was born in France in 1900, when airplanes were just being invented. Antoine dreamed of flying and grew up to be a pilot--and that was when his adventures began. He found a job delivering mail by plane, which had never been done before. He and his fellow pilots traveled to faraway places and discovered new ways of getting from one place to the next. Antoine flew over mountains and deserts. He battled winds and storms. He tried to break aviation records, and sometimes he even crashed. From his plane, Antoine looked down on the earth and was inspired to write about his life and his pilot-hero friends in memoirs and in fiction. Peter Sis's remarkable biography celebrates the author of The Little Prince, one of the most beloved books in the world. Kniha o osamělosti, hledání krásy a smyslu života. Petr Sís s empatií, lehkostí a citem pro dobovou atmosféru vypráví příběh legendárního francouzského letce, dobrodruha a spisovatele Antoina de Saint-Exupéryho (1900–1944). Mimořádně zpracovaný obrazový životopis sleduje rodinné zázemí, dětské sny, práci pro leteckou poštu i osudový poslední let nad Středozemním mořem. Je to portrét muže, jenž s oblibou četl i psal přímo v kokpitu letadla, odvážně překonával hranice dosud možného a zároveň zůstal velkým snílkem. Po celý život si v sobě uchoval zvědavé a hravé dítě – svého Malého prince.

In this edition of "Aesop's Fables", Max Bolliger has incorporated five of the most famous fables into a new framework in which a group of animals gather together to tell stories and, thanks to the lion, learn a valuable lesson about peace.
The merry-go-round belongs to a man called George. He does everything himself. He sets up the merry-go-round. He collects the money. George is worried-he would much rather have dodgems. The animals on his merry-go-round run away. They go and visit children at night, in their dreams, and then they come back. George is desperate but the children help him to find all his animals.
There once was a little boy, and his name was Peter. But at school everybody just called him Tiny. Today he and his mum are on a day trip to Knie's children's zoo in Rapperswil. All by himself he goes out on an adventure and gets to know the animals in the zoo.
There once was a little boy, and all the other children called him Tiny. In his pockets he kept all his treasures. Sometimes he could feel secrets hidden in these treasures, secrets he didn’t quite understand. An angel put the stories to go with all these things he kept into his heart. So all Tiny had to do was take one of his treasures in his hand, for example the seashell, and its secret would open up to him straight away.
