They named themselves The Amethyst Sisters when Bernice crafted and gifted each sister with a silver choker-style amethyst necklace. Spiritually, amethyst crystals symbolize healing powers. They wore their necklaces as they gathered for their workshops in the sisterhood of friendship, writing, and healing. They met in restaurants, toting laptops, notebooks, and folders full of printed chapters.
