The Number Mountain at first is a lonely mountain because he doesn't have any friends to enjoy his beauty. Then, numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9, and 10 come along separately to enjoy nature around the beautiful mountain. Each climbing on the other because they are one more than the number before. In the end, 10 climbs to the very top and takes in the view all to himself but realizes he wants his friends to enjoy the beautiful view with him. He calls all his friends and they come up to enjoy themselves with him. They form to become the Tens-Frame Family with the number mountain. It is a book to help children with number recognition and the formation of how to write their numbers. Along with that, it involves friendship. There are many books and rhymes about how to write your letters but not many about the formation of numbers.
