With this volume of the “Mystical Opuscula” of St. Bonaventure, we begin a series of translations that will systematically cover the major works of this influential figure in Christian theology. St. Bonaventure, a Doctor of the Church, was a prominent leader and theologian known for his profound insights into the theology of love. Despite his extensive influence and numerous editions of his works, much of his writing remains underrepresented in English. While some translations exist, St. Bonaventure's genius and message have yet to be fully recognized in the English-speaking world. The St. Anthony Guild Press aims to change that by utilizing the definitive Quaracchi Edition of the “Opera Omnia,” with the project authorized by the Minister General of the Order of Friars Minor. The translator, Baron José de Vinck, is a distinguished linguist and writer. The second and third volumes are already in advanced preparation and will follow within a year.
