To je jedna z otázek, které si Přibáň ve své publikaci o věcech veřejných, o politických systémech i právu klade. The Defence of Constitutionalism je souborem esejí politologických, sociologických i společenskovědních. Nenajdeme zde však formy abstraktního filosofování, nezaměnitelným Přibáně činí právě jeho ojedinělý kulturní záběr, na jehož pozadí se současným otázkám věnuje. Překlad původního vydání je pro anglicky čtoucí čtenáře adaptován a rozšířen o nové kapitoly, předmluvu napsal P. Pithart, vychází v Edici Václava Havla.

The essays in this book deal with those who currently figure among the most important Czech artists and whose work is internationally recognized. Most of them entered the art scene in the late 1980s on the crest of a powerful generational wave known as Czech postmodernism. Although this artistic drive ran parallel to revolutionary changes in Central and Eastern Europe, it would be grossly simplistic and misleading to view Czech postmodernism as a by-product of the disintegration of Communist regimes and exposure to the effects of West European culture. In fact, the story of Czech postmodernism is unique evidence that, in diverse social and political contexts, artists ultimately address issues of a general nature beyond politics and ideology

First published in 1999, this volume is a series of essays on the countries of Central Europe. The essays explore the post-1989 establishment of the rule of law and civil society. It brings together analysis and perceptions from social scientists, political scientists and lawyers, seeking through particular issues to explore the similarities and differences between different countries. While other books have explored the changes in former Soviet Block countries since 1989, the book’s distinctiveness lies in three its concentration on Central Europe a concept explored in the book; giving fuller attention to the Czech Republic and Slovakia than other post-communist studies often do; providing perceptions of scholars from different disciplines.

Jir� Prib�n's book contributes to the field of systems theory of law in the context of European legal and political integration and constitution-making. It puts recent European legislative efforts and policies, especially the EU enlargement process, in the context of legal theory and philosophy. Furthermore, the author shows that the system of positive law has a symbolic meaning, reflecting how it also contributes to the semantics of political identity, democratic power and moral values, as well as the complex relations between law, politics and morality.

The exhibition is accompanied by issuing this reader. Deified Art consisting of five essay reprints. The essays have been written by significant European and American philosophers, sociologists and historians, such as Jacques Rancière, Zygmunt Bauman, Peter Sloterdijk, Timothy Snyder and Susan Buck-Morss. The reader also includes seven new essays by relevant Czech, Macedonian and Slovak philosophers whose contributions resonate with the key connotations of Jirí David´s oeuvre, which focuses on historical, philosophical, aesthetic, artistic, social and political topics and introduces them into ambiguous correlations.

Česko-anglická publikace současného českého malíře Jakuba Špaňhela představuje především několik ucelených cyklů z posledních let: obrazy kostelů, obrazy velmi osobitě inspirované dílem Bohuslava Reynka, klíčový cyklus lustrů i ukázku ze slavného cyklu benzínových pump.
