Exploring themes of ecological loss and personal grief, this work blends poetry, memoir, and essay to create a rich narrative. The author intertwines his reflections on a plastic-choked ocean with a poignant story of childhood memories and the impact of his mother's death from cancer. Through innovative techniques of "self-erasure," the text invites readers into a multifaceted experience that delves into nonfiction, myth, and aesthetics, ultimately redefining the boundaries of poetry and its potential impact.

'A beacon of hope in a dark world' Cathy Rentzenbrink, The Pool Selected as a Book of the Year 2016 in the Guardian and Observer This inspiring and courageous book is a guiding star for us all in troubled times. One night last winter, Antoine Leiris was at home looking after his son while his wife, Hlne, was at a concert with friends. Suddenly he started receiving text messages asking if he was ok. Turning on the TV, Antoine watched the terrorist attacks in Paris unfolding around him and tried to call Hlne. She didn't answer. That night Hlne was killed, along with 88 other people, at the Bataclan Theatre. Three days later, Antoine wrote an open letter to his wife's killers on Facebook. He refused to be cowed or to let his baby son's life be defined by their acts. 'For as long as he lives, this little boy will insult you with his happiness and freedom,' he wrote. Instantly, that short post caught fire and was shared thousands of times around the world. You Will Not Have My Hate is an extraordinary and heartbreaking memoir which teaches us how to respond to a world full of hatred with generosity and love. This is the rare and unforgettable testimony of a survivor, and a universal message of hope and resilience. THE INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER

    • In addition to the inclusion of some recent photographic works, this text documents Sam Taylor-Wood's work on "Third Party", which she realized with professional actors and Marianne Faithful.

    • In 1947 the International Circus Clowns’ Club began keeping a record of its member clowns’ make-up. Each unique make-up design was painted onto an emptied chicken egg that was catalogued and used to trademark the identities of clowns including the famous Coco and Grimaldi. Stan Bult, founder of the club, painstakingly painted the earliest designs by hand himself. Birth of a Clown is Sam Taylor-Johnson’s photographic documentation of these fascinating objects, now part of the Clowns’ Gallery and Museum in Somerset. Taylor-Johnson stumbled onto the museum by chance and has now preserved these eccentric portraits—sometimes hilarious, sometimes sad—in book form.
