Focusing on the innovative design of an autonomous micro helicopter, the book presents two prototypes: a modular version for quick sensor and actuator changes, and a compact design for weight reduction and integrated sensors. It establishes a theoretical framework for coaxial micro helicopter design, emphasizing passive stabilization and steering. A dynamic model incorporating hingeless rotor characteristics is developed and experimentally validated. This work contributes to the advancement of palm-sized Micro Aerial Vehicles (MAVs) through detailed modeling and optimization studies.
