This book presents a speculative philosophy, based on physics and neurophysiology, which offers explanations of how will is possible in a world described by physical laws. There is a history of similar attempts by scientists and philosophers that are also reviewed in this book. All of the proposals have to do with how quantum mechanics, and in particular the uncertainty principle, might operate in the human brain to provide a physical basis for human will.
