The topic of this study is highly relevant for the history of the Seleucid Empire. Due to the patchiness of the known sources the study deals with a difficult area. In order to determine a more coherent picture of this relatively obscure and largely misunderstood history, Lerner disentangles from the various literary traditions from the individuals and events to which they relate.
