The VLDB Secure Data Management Workshop, now in its 7th year, focused on the critical area of data security, particularly as data proliferates in open environments due to emerging services like cloud computing and health-related applications. Confidentiality drives research on topics such as privacy-enhancing technologies, access control, and searching in encrypted data. Out of 20 submissions, 10 papers were selected for presentation and inclusion in the proceedings, achieving a 50% acceptance rate. We were honored to have Elisa Bertino deliver a keynote on data trustworthiness. The proceedings are organized into two sections: the first emphasizes privacy, featuring a mix of theoretical and application-oriented papers on anonymity; the second addresses data security in open environments, tackling the management of confidential data in contexts like cloud computing. We extend our gratitude to all authors for their high-quality submissions, the program committee, and additional referees for their thorough reviews. Special thanks to Luan Ibraimi for his technical assistance in preparing the proceedings. We hope this collection inspires further research in the field.
