BIS 2007 marked the tenth international conference on business information systems, held in Poznan, where it originated in 1997. The conference serves as a vital platform for professionals to exchange and disseminate research on the development, implementation, and enhancement of computer systems for business processes. This jubilee conference focused on the theme “Semantic Integration of Data and Processes across Enterprises and Societies.” The volume includes research trends and significant advancements in modern business information systems, featuring 51 selected papers grouped by topics such as Business Process Management, Web Services, Ontologies, Information Retrieval, System Design, Agents and Mobile Applications, Decision Support, Social Issues, and Specific MIS Issues. The Program Committee, comprising nearly 100 members, meticulously evaluated the submissions, which doubled compared to the previous year. Supported by an online review system, the committee's efforts resulted in higher-quality reviews, ensuring fairness in acceptance decisions. This not only enhanced the conference's quality but also positively influenced the authors' work.
