Más información sobre el libro

What is the right sitting position? What is ergonomically correct? These questions are central to ergonomists, but other scientific fields can also contribute. Ergomechanics bridges ergonomics and biomechanical engineering, while disciplines like orthopaedics, rehabilitation, psychology, and more offer valuable insights. For years, companies like Grammer AG and SATO Office GmbH have supported knowledge exchange on sitting. To disseminate this information beyond their confines, the first ergomechanics conference was held in 2001, gathering leading international scientists who summarized their findings on spinal biomechanics. The success of this event led to a second conference on September 29, 2005, in Amberg, where key scientific leaders presented the latest research. While the conferences highlighted that the causes of back pain and disc degeneration remain unclear, they suggested that sitting posture affects spinal loading. Notably, sitting without vibrations is less harmful than previously believed. A dynamic seated position that alternates between lordotic and kyphotic postures is deemed beneficial for spinal health. This book compiles comprehensive summaries from the conference proceedings and is available in both German and English.
