The line is the central focus of the work of Swiss artist Carlos Matter. This small book represents a search and at the same time a game, in which Mr. Matter approaches the very idea of line from a neutral and experimental position. What is a line? The line frees itself, the line is drawn with tape, with ties and tubes, the line is photographed, modeled into a sculpture, projected. Mirroring the approach to line, Carlos Matter searches for universal utterances.
