Más información sobre el libro

Organic photochemistry encompasses three main areas: theory, instrumentation, and preparation. Historically, one individual could manage all three, but the increasing complexity of these disciplines has made this impractical. Consequently, a focused exploration of preparative organic photochemistry is timely. Currently, there is a lack of comprehensive reviews on major photochemical reactions that reflect recent advancements for organic chemists in preparation. A notable exception is the 1956 work by C. R. Masson, V. Boekelheide, and W. A. Noyes Jr., which briefly outlines significant reactions in this area. In contrast, the present monograph aims to provide an extensive overview tailored for chemists. While it does not attempt to cover every photochemical reaction in organic chemistry, it includes those of current relevance and others that may gain importance in the future, particularly those leading to single end-products with known compositions. However, the synthesis of highly polymerized products is not addressed within this work.
