Angiography is the gold standard for visualizing cardiac vasculature and chambers in interventional suites, primarily using high-resolution 2-D X-ray images from C-arm systems. Traditionally, cardiologists diagnose based on these planar images, with no dynamic 3-D analysis of cardiac chambers. Recently, there has been growing interest in 3-D cardiac imaging within catheter laboratories, but challenges such as cardiac motion lead to significant imaging artifacts. This thesis focuses on visualizing and extracting dynamic and functional parameters of cardiac chambers in 3-D using an angiographic C-arm system. Two approaches for motion-compensated reconstruction of cardiac chambers were developed and evaluated. The first technique focuses on visualizing the left ventricle, while the second employs volume-based motion estimation algorithms to reconstruct images of the left atrium and left ventricle, extending to all four heart chambers. The findings demonstrate the feasibility of dynamic and functional cardiac chamber imaging using data from an interventional angiographic C-arm system, paving the way for enhanced clinical applications in cardiac diagnostics.
