Más información sobre el libro
Software Engineering (SE) is a crucial discipline within Computer Science curricula at universities. Current challenges in software development include increasing system complexity, shorter development cycles, rapid time-to-market, continuous change, and the demand for high-quality software. The growth of the software industry presents significant challenges for software engineering education. The emergence of SE as a key term in computer and engineering education has prompted educators to address these challenges. The European Conference on Software Engineering Education 2016 (ECSEE 2016) will facilitate discussions on how to prepare students and employees to navigate these complexities. Key questions include identifying best practices for various domains, from mobile app development to large-scale mainframe applications, and ensuring that students are equipped for lifelong learning. Additionally, the conference will explore how to align educational outcomes with industry needs, focusing on both technical and soft skills. The event will feature three keynote presentations: Prof. Dr. Michael Kölling will discuss the future of educational programming environments; Prof. Dr. Carlos Delgado Kloos will share insights on lessons from software engineering for courseware production; and Prof. Dr. Amir Tomer will address the evolution of software education from programming to engineering.
