This self-contained circuit has been a significant theme in cultural history, alchemy, religion, and philosophy since antiquity. An exhibition at the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg offers a comprehensive examination of the loop phenomenon across art, film, architecture, music, literature, and cultural history, exploring its implications in terms of time, place, form, and content. Accompanying the exhibition is a scholarly catalogue edited by Ralf Beil, which delves into this multifaceted theme through the lenses of science, literature, and creativity. The catalogue features thirteen essays, numerous original sources, and over three hundred illustrations, providing a foundational exploration that continually unveils new perspectives and insights.
