International student mobility programs are increasingly promoted for the internationalization of higher education, yet mere immersion in a foreign country does not ensure the development of intercultural competence. The central inquiry focuses on how everyday encounters in unfamiliar environments can be transformed into meaningful experiences and constructive learning. This exploration delves into the didactic-methodical aspects of fostering intercultural competence through study abroad experiences at the university level.
