This collectible publication for graphic designers and creative entrepreneurs is dedicated to “Color Library,” a highly regarded project in graphic design. Serving as a database of color profiles, it caters to artists, designers, photographers, and printers seeking a professional color management solution. The library features an extensive range of color combinations, including basic, metallic, neon, and pastel shades. Originating from ECAL/University of Art and Design Lausanne in 2014, it began as an experimental initiative and evolved into an online platform for development and distribution. This nonprofit website aims to provide an innovative tool for creative professionals while educating students about color theory and management—key areas in contemporary design research. Notable users of “Color Library” include Åbäke, Vitra, Baldinger•Vu-Huu, Edition Patrick Frey, Zak Kyes, Istituto Svizzero, Kunsthalle Basel, and Nero Publishing. The publication explores the various chromatic and technical possibilities of the library and features a commissioned visual essay by Zurich-based photographer Shirana Shahbazi, along with essays by London-based writer and curator Emily King, Manon Bruet, and Franz Sigg. It is published in collaboration with ECAL, Lausanne.
