This volume presents eleven philosophical investigations into our future relations with social robots designed to engage with humans. Contributors explore whether robots can be integrated into human societies and if our interactions with them can be considered "social." They examine the implications of human-robot interactions at work and home from philosophical, cognitive, psychological, and robotic perspectives. The initial chapters classify simulated social interactions, assess the genuineness of human-robot interactions, and discuss how social relations contribute to human individuality. Following chapters investigate whether robots can adhere to social norms, fulfill caregiving roles, and navigate human social conventions. The text also questions the potential for joint actions with robots, where mutual commitments are honored, and how these practices might influence regional cultures.
