Animals and Desire in South African Fiction

Exploring the intersection of desire and social inequality, this work examines contemporary South African literature's portrayal of affective experiences. Jason Price critiques how capitalist and colonial definitions of desire perpetuate dominance, while highlighting the unpredictable nature of nonhuman desires, particularly in relation to animals.
