Ongoing population growth is driving rapid urbanization, infrastructure development, and increasing demand for natural resources like water, oil, and minerals. Coupled with climate change and the rising impact of natural hazards, these factors present new challenges for the engineering geology profession, especially in developing and newly industrialized regions.
