The Dangerous Ideas of Science describes the religious, governmental, industrial and general societal opposition to some major concepts of science. Included are two cases where religion and science clashed, two instances of governments tangling with science, one where industry fought science, and one of the intelligent general public being opposed. The last case is presented as the greatest threat of science.
