Más información sobre el libro

Franziska Grafin zu Reventlow, born in 1871 in Husum, left her family in 1893 to pursue a career as a teacher in Munich, where her fiancé supported her art studies. She became a prominent figure in the Munich bohemia, translating extensively from French. Reventlow lived in a shared apartment with her partner Bohdan von Suchocki, writer Franz Hessel, and her young son Rolf at Kaulbachstrasse 63, known as the Eckhaus. After the collapse of this communal living arrangement, the stillbirth of two daughters, and Suchocki's emigration to the USA, she moved to Ticino. There, she entered a marriage of convenience with a Baltic baron to facilitate an inheritance. In 1913, she wrote the key novel "Herrn Dames Aufzeichnungen," satirizing the Schwabing artists and intellectuals of the turn of the century, whom she referred to as Wahnmoching. Reventlow passed away in 1918 at the age of 47 in Locarno due to heart failure during surgery. This new edition includes a biography of the author and is based on the 1976 collection of her works, maintaining the original pagination as marginal notes. The cover design features Alphonse Mucha's "Der Flirt" (1899) and is set in Minion Pro, 11 pt.
