Nos enteramos de las ilusiones de ambos amigos y de su llamada a filas. Es, sin duda, una obra antibelicista, que nos muestra los horrores de la guerra y la miseria humana. Asistimos a sentimientos de culpa, pero también de inocencia juvenil. Nos enfrentamos al dilema libertad-destino, amistad-deber. Una buena novela que no nos debe dejar indiferentes ante las situaciones que describe.
