Más información sobre el libro

A compulsively readable story that begins as a conventional murder mystery and gradually transforms into a horrifying supernatural thriller, this narrative delves into one of the most notorious crime sprees of Victorian times. Frustrated by their pursuit of Jack the Ripper, Scotland Yard detectives face a new threat: the Torso Killer, known for leaving neatly wrapped parcels of his victims' body parts. Dr. Thomas Bond, a respected police surgeon, is haunted by the increasing number of mutilated corpses and struggles with insomnia, finding temporary solace in opium, though he fears its grip on him. During his nightly excursions through London's underbelly in search of relief, he encounters a mysterious Jesuit priest, who is also seeking something within the opium dens. Initially dismissive of the priest's unnatural theories about the Torso Killer, Dr. Bond's opium-addled mind begins to waver, leading him to question the nature of the threat. As the police grapple with two serial killers, Dr. Bond suspects he may know the Torso Killer personally. If his suspicions are correct, he must summon all his strength to protect his loved ones from this twisted creature's bloody depravity.
