On a Spring afternoon in London, Sam discovers £1,300 missing from his and his wife Efe's shared bank account, and his calls go unanswered. When he finally reaches someone, he learns Efe is nearly 5,000 miles away, leaving their toddler to ask, "Where's Mummy?" Their love story began in their teens, with Efe, newly arrived from Ghana, finding solace in Sam's stability and ambition. However, a decade later, Efe finds his unwavering vision for their future somewhat insufferable. To outsiders, they appear to be the perfect couple, but cracks are beginning to show. An unplanned pregnancy exacerbates their differences: fatherhood is Sam's dream, while Efe feels trapped in a nightmare. As new revelations surface, they must confront their diverging desires for their lives. Overwhelmed by the demands of motherhood and the loss of her own dreams, Efe ultimately disappears, forcing Sam to grapple with the reality of their fractured relationship and the future of their family.
