Joshua Duffy, a former elite bodyguard, struggles to adjust to life as a mall cop after losing his leg during a mission in Lebanon. Facing the challenges of supporting his family in this new role, he unexpectedly reconnects with an old comrade who presents him with a risky opportunity: a UN peace mission in the perilous Sierra Madre mountains, infamously dubbed the Devil's Spine.
