Through My Eyes tells a very familiar story, one of school bullying and its effect on the person being bullied.Emma Osborne (author) is a young girl coming into the last couple of school years. Apart from the normal issues associated with the pressures of doing well at school, she faces the added pressure of being bullied.She can't understand why this is happening... She's all right, isn't she?... She's just a normal girl with friends and, being introverted, keeps pretty much to herself... Why does Scarlett hate her so much?She does what just about everyone in this position does; she withdraws into herself and stresses about what is wrong with her. The result is that she becomes ill with recurring health issues. It takes her a long time to finally get to a stage where she feels this situation can't go on any more and talks to her head teacher.This helps; her teachers are understanding, and she is moved to a new class to separate her from her nemesis. Her friends are also very supportive, and she is able to get through the last two years of school and navigate her GCSE exams successfully.
