Dr. Adeline Glen cannot feel pain due to a genetic condition. Boston Detective D. D. Warren, after a traumatic incident, is left seriously injured and unable to recall crucial details from the night she was attacked. Her sister, Shana Day, a notorious murderer serving thirty years for her crimes, has recently committed more murders while in prison. Six weeks later, another woman is found dead in her bed, with the crime scene echoing a previous case involving a bottle of champagne and a single red rose. The only potential witness is D. Complicating matters, their father, Harry Day, was an infamous serial killer who buried young women beneath their home, and the new killer, known as the Rose Killer, seems to know too much about him. Shana claims she can help catch this new threat, but Adeline is wary, believing that her inability to feel pain doesn’t exempt her from her family's dark legacy. Though D. D. is sidelined, she is determined to hunt down the Rose Killer, who is targeting her specifically. To confront him, she knows she must embrace her fears.
